Description

Subaru New England was building a large warehouse for the distribution of Subaru parts throughout New England. The development of the site required the construction of a huge retaining wall. The wall was 670 feet long and up to 25 feet high. Most of the site was a rock cut, but there was 4 to 8 feet of soil over the bedrock that had to be retained. The owner wanted the wall right on the property line, so a geogrid wall was not possible.

SFC designed the wall using a combination of 41 inch and 60 inch deep blocks, along with two courses that were set back an additional 15 inches.
