Description

SFC Engineering Partnership was selected by Salem Nissan to assists in the development of a new car dealership at 93 North Broadway in Salem, NH.

Salem Nissan’s vision was to construct a building with a total footprint of 18,000 SF. The main body of the building (measuring about 120 x 135) would house a vehicle showroom, sales offices and service bays on the first level. A portion of the building would include a second level for administrative offices. A feature that was to be included within the 18,000 SF footprint was two drive-through bays for customer vehicle drop-off. This building element measured about 30’ wide by 60’ long.

SFC prepared site development plans, including site layout, grading and infrastructure (parking, display area for 200 vehicles, sanitary sewer, water, and cable utilities), storm water management and erosion control, and wetland impact plans. SFC also prepared and submitted applications for required permits and approvals.

SFC reviewed local and state regulations in light of Nissans development ideas on the subject lot. The prominent challenge on this parcel was wetlands and flood waters. The design needed to protect the Nissan inventory from flood waters and, just as importantly, needed to protect an adjacent neighborhood from any impacts of flood water due to the site design. Appropriate precautions were taken by SFC.

The design was successful, and Salem Nissan began construction in the Spring of 2105.
