Spooky World, Nightmare New England, Litchfield, NH

SFC Engineering Partnership, Inc., (SFC) was contracted by Nightmare New England (Spooky World) in Litchfield, NH to review the fire and life safety code compliance of their new and existing haunted exhibits. SFC worked close with facility owners, operators and local and state officials to address safety concerns of their facilities. SFC assisted in getting a temporary waiver for sprinkler protection, as well as worked closely with the local fire department to develop a water supply for firefighting and eventually installing sprinklers in the tents.

Among challenges that needed to be overcome, were the lack of municipal water access and that the haunted venues are located in temporary tents. These tents are assembled and disassembled each season making this a yearly process. The haunts needed to be fire proofed and fire alarms were installed in each and every tent.
