North Street Retaining Wall Design, Laconia, NH

Description

The city of Laconia, NH had a retaining wall that was failing. The wall was along the side of North Street and had a significant lean to it. The wall was an old cut stone wall and was unique in that the top of the wall sloped to follow the steep grade of the road. The city of Laconia wanted the new wall to follow the same slop instead of being level with step downs.

SFC worked with Michie Corporation, the block supplier, to design a wall that would meet the City of Laconia’s requirements. The wall was sloped approximately 5.9 degrees to meet the grade of the road.
