Steven Southard, PE – Vice President of Fire Protection Engineering

Steven Southard brings over a decade of experience in fire protection engineering and code consulting to his new role. He began his career in the nuclear industry, applying risk-based fire protection regulations at nuclear facilities across the United States. Steven later transitioned to a multidiscipline design firm, where he led a team of fire protection engineers on projects throughout New England before joining SFC in 2023. 

Steven holds a Master of Science in Fire Protection Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a licensed Professional Fire Protection Engineer in multiple states, including New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Steven is an active member of the National Fire Protection Association and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.

His notable projects include leading the fire protection design for Yale New Haven Health’s Regional Operations Center, the School of Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center’s Data Center. Steven’s expertise in performance-based solutions and his dedication to cost-effective, high-safety engineering make him an invaluable asset to SFC.  Steven is well positioned to lead the fire protection team with a collaborative personality and willingness to do the right things all the time.

Daniel M. Flores, PE – Vice President of Civil Engineering

Daniel Flores brings over 20 years of civil engineering design and site development experience, specializing in commercial and residential site planning, campground design and environmental permitting. His extensive portfolio includes some of the largest campgrounds in New Hampshire, such as Westward Shores Cottages and RV Resort and Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Glen, NH, along with dozens of commercial site designs throughout New England including T-Bones Restaurants and Canobie Lake Park.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and an Associate of Science in Architectural Engineering Technology from the New Hampshire Technical Institute. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts, and holds design licensure and certifications related to onsite septic and stormwater management.  Daniel serves on the NH Water Council representing recreational interests and is an active member of ASCE.

Daniel’s leadership and comprehensive understanding of environmental regulations have consistently delivered successful project outcomes and he will bring that high level of commitment to his new role as the leader of the civil engineering team.
